The Steve Redgrave Fund
On February 1st 2008, the Steve Redgrave Trust became the Steve Redgrave Fund as it joined with Sport Relief and became a part of the Comic Relief family.
After successfully reaching Sir Steve's target of £5 million raised in five years - and launching its own schools project which already involves thousands of young people in the UK - it was decided that more could be achieved by working alongside Sport Relief over the coming years.
In addition to his work in establishing and helping to manage the Steve Redgrave Trust over the past few years, Sir Steve has also been a valued support of Sport Relief - and has seen first hand the kind of expertise and experience which being a member of the Comic Relief family can bring.
The Steve Redgrave Fund will now focus on building the schools project which has already proved so successful in areas such as Birmingham, Glasgow and Cardiff - addressing problems associated with lack of exercise, obesity, social inclusion and confidence among children and young people in Britain.
In addition, money raised by the Fund will also be shared with Sport Relief which supports vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives both in the UK and in the world's poorest countries.
Many thanks for your support.
