London 2012 Olympic Bid: Success!

I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to bring the Olympic Games to London. It is an amazing opportunity. The event will be brilliant, not only for London, but for the country as a whole. In particular, the lead-up to the games provides a focal point for youngsters to get get involved with sport and healthy pursuits. It provides a platform to address the problems related to childhood obesity and lack of exercise.

Within the bid, we have promised a hell of a lot! Expectations, both in our country and abroad, are very high. We now have to work hard to make sure we exceed those expectations. I am looking forward to a fantastic Olympic Games.
