The FA Cup Final at Wembley

Date: 16 May 2007

As the editor of this web site, it is my job to keep the online diary up-to-date with Steve's news. Usually this is a pleasure. This week, however, I should be writing in green ink.

Steve, together with two of his three children, will be attending this week's offical opening of the new Wembley Stadium. This historical event is then followed by what is expected to be the match of the season, Manchester United v Chelsea. Both teams will be giving their all to claim the FA Cup and add more silverware to their already well-populated trophy cabinets.

I have tried to persuade Steve to take me along but apparently his children come first. I have toyed with the idea of bribery and even contemplated blackmail. Unfortunately, I don't have anything on him so would have to make something up - although I could tell you that Steve once smoked! Keeping this shocking confession quiet would surely be worth putting one of his children through the trauma of missing out on this historical sporting event. No?

After much angst, I have decided to settle for my TV and a first hand post-match report from Steve. I promise to publish this right here as soon as I have recovered from my encounter with the green-eyed monster.
