What is happening now?
Since retirement in 2000, Steve has built a new career involving various commercial and charitable projects. Detailed information can be found in the relevant sections within this site, meanhile, below is an overview of some of the activities that have kept Steve off the streets since 2000...
5G: The Leisurewear Collection for Men
Steve formed 5G (FiveGold) in 2002 with the aim of applying all the attributes that had featured in his career to producing quality leisurewear - we think he needed something to wear on the golf course but this is vehemently denied! Steve explains: 'In the period leading up to winning my fifth Olympic gold medal in Sydney I was preparing for the time when I would retire from my career in international rowing. I wanted to be personally involved in a commercial enterprise in a way that would still require a high level of commitment and teamwork. An enterprise that would also provide a focus for my energy and ambition after years of intensive training and competing in the sports arena. FiveGold gave me a new direction when I most needed it.'
Redgrave Health and Leisure
Formed by Steve and his wife, Dr Lady Ann Redgrave, this company's main aim is to build and operate an integrated centre that combines top quality sports and rehabilitation medicine facilities with leisure and medical educational services.
Television and Media
Walkers, Flora ProActiv, PhysioSport and Admiral have benefitted from Steve's endorsement by aligning themselves with both Steve and the values he represents. Steve is always interested in looking at strong creative ideas, more details can be found in the Business Briefcase section.
